Extended Warranty: Lexus Platinum or Penske Platinum?
#16
Other warranties though offer a rebate if you have not filed a claim, certain conditions apply. That's something to consider.
Good luck anyway. Peace of mind, can not beat it.

Thank you all for the feedback! I am leaning more towards the Lexus Platinum since it has more perks as far as towing and travel protection, etc. I found out that the Penske warranty is through a company called resource automotive. They are part of a company called the warranty group.

No you cannot. You can only purchase a Lexus Extended Warranty if the vehicle is within the factory 4 year or 50K mile warranty.

Toyota Factory Extra Care platinum Zero Deductible Warranty
After reading a lot of comments recommending Jerry Johnson with Midwest Toyota and Midwest Superstore, I sent an e-mail to Jerry with my info and questions and he called me within the hour. I knew right off from his manner that he was the one I wanted to do business with. He quoted a price approximately 50% of what Toyota recommends to dealers, took my credit card info and we had a great deal within 10 minutes. Jerry has my strongest recommendation, his contact info is: Phone 800-530-5789; Cell 620-664-8844; Email jerryj@midwestsuperstore.com

Good deal. It is all about service it is not? Good pricing helps a lot too.

Jerry the warranty guy
I just bought the 8 year 100 K warranty from Jerry, based on recommendations here and the fact that he beat both my local dealer and my favorite out of town dealer by a mile.

Definitely Lexus. As the matter of fact, I am in the process of going through the same thing. My factory warranty is up on 01/02/12 and I currently have 46K miles. I called my local dealer (Portland, OR) and told that that I can buy 8/100 Lexus Platinum coverage for $1960. They told me they'll match it. So, I just got an application in the mail today.

Make SURE it is the Lexus Platinum and NOT your dealer's "platinum" warranty. I inquired my dealership about the Lexus Platinum and they presented their "platinum" warranty instead. They did not mention it was not the Lexus Platinum. When I confronted them, they explained that it was the same. I was a little fumed by that. I ended up going with Jerry. My dealership also matched Jerry's price and even beat the 8/125 price. So make sure its not some 3rd party warranty.
As the matter of fact, Lexus of Portland kind of tried the same thing, they sent me a contract to sign, which was the third party "The Mechanic" Platinum contract with $100 deductible. So, I called them back and I told them that I wanted the Lexus Extra Care Platinum VSA, which they promptly sent to me.

Careful with these dealers switching their non-branded warranty versus Lexus. All for a quick and dirty profit. Why they lie, I do not get it.
