Red face Best iPod integration for 05 RX330 w/ Nav?

Hi everyone! I am about to buy my mom's 05 RX330 with Nav, and I was curious to see what everyone thought about the best way to use an iPod? I have used FM transmitters, but they aren't clear enough for me. I want to integrate it somehow, and I am not scared of installing something myself. I have tried to do as much research as I can, but I still have questions.

VAIS vs PA15? I may be leaning towards the PA15.

This also might be helpful: I'm wanting to be able to keep my iPod in my glovebox and never have to mess with it. I would like my steering wheel controls to control my iPod, and I don't want to have to listen to playlists, I typically just load up my iPod with a bunch of everything, and just listen to it on shuffle. So really, as long as I can listen to all songs on shuffle, and just skip back and forth, I will be a happy girl! Some of the descriptions of PA15 sound like I would only be limited to listening to 5 playlists, so I am hoping that is incorrect. Also, I would like my song info to show up either on the radio text or on the nav screen (if possible on the 05 RX330?).

Any and all help is appreciated! I feel like once I decide on what to buy, the installation will be easy, as I have found detailed pictures/videos online.

Thanks in advance!

P.S. I don't have Mark Levinson sound system, if that makes a difference.

I'm not familiar with the PA15 unit, but the VAIS unit works well in my 08 RX400h. It allows me to access music via playlist, artist, album, song, podcast, or audio book and puts them in a nice folder layout.

The only disadvantage is sometimes there is a lot of scrolling to get a particular song. Also, most of the functions are locked out while the vehicle is in motion.

Good luck,

Jeff

I installed the PA-15 on my '09 RX 350. I can select shuttle or use playlists from the nav screen. All steering wheel controls work so I can leave the ipod in the glove box, out of sight. The PA-15 also includes an aux input for other devices. Installation was easy and there are some good tutorials on accessing the back of the radio on U-tube.
