Please help- check engine light
While driving home from work today my check engine and VSC lights came on. I felt no difference in how the car drove. My car is a '04 Rx 330 with 212,700 miles on it which I had since new. My question is what is the most likely cause? I would appreciate any thoughts before I make an appointment with the dealer.

Take it by a shop like AutoZone or Advance Auto Parts and have them put their diagnostics tool on to see what codes come up. Will go a long way to providing details which will help.

we could sit here all day and do "could be's"
either get the code scanned, or remove the negative battery cable to clear the code yourself, and see if the light comes back on (you will also have to reset your windows, sunroof, etc.)

Yeah right? Get the code read (before you try and clear it yourself) and report back to us with the code #. Dont just rely on the person reading it. We`ll help you out here once we know the number. 212,700 miles huh? Impressive.

Thats the thing that impressed me about these cars. I've driven alot of cars, but I've never run into so many that have crazy miles on them. And you can still work on them. Try taking an alternator off a Chevy or BMW with 250,XXX mile on it. You'll probly break the wrench first
