HELP!! Trying to buy an RX, but my wife hates the wood
Ok so here's my deal. My wife and I are researching and looking to buy a CPO RX350 or 400h. In researching, we have found that she doesn't like the wood. She likes and can deal with the black wood, but that is VERY few and far between from what I have been finding.
I guess my question is, can the trim pieces, the steering wheel, and the shift **** be swapped out to the black wood?
Any other ideas let me know. Until then I will just keep searching Lexus' CPO site for each and every state trying to find the right combo of year, mileage, exterior color, interior color, black wood, and nav.

Lexus Test Driver
Hates the wood?????? Not pun there. I just love the wood trimming. well I would look into the hybrid. There is trim without the wood. I would go to the Lexus dealer and test drive a pre-owned Lexus certified. Ask all the trim questions. they will be eager to tell if they think it will sell a car.
I know it's got to be possible to change out the trim, however it's gonna cost you.

Me, I love the wood steering wheel. Was asking if it was an option when I bought my 06 IS. I like the wood interior way more than the one post by 1SICKLEX. Can someone chime in on the interior of our 2nd gen RX about the black wood trim? I don't remember seeing it in other 2nd gen RX.

first thing first, make sure you find one with a sport package, they come with a better transmission (all those complaints on here about them doesnt affect the sport package)
this will do two things, better tranny as mentioned, and it comes with a leather steering wheel. so now you just have to worry about the trim.
go to: this is for 2004 -2005, but i am sure if you search you can find more.

pick one out and your off to the races.

I like the black wood myself but have the regular maple bird's eye wood. Then again the RX is the wifey's. She's happy, I am happy.

No, I don't play soccer!
Yes, the espresso bird's eye maple is beautiful compared to the brown walnut. I'm not a fan of the wood in general, and I will admit I added more in the RX300. But I got bored of the blah brown color and it discolored over time. My RX330 with the performance package did not have the wood steering wheel and shifter - wasn't available for that model. As far as the trans, it had the shifting issue so it wasn't immune.

Simply ignore your wife. I wish I ignored my girlfriend when I bought Lexus RX350 because I want another car...
After driving Daimler V8 Super (the most luxurious version of Jaguar XJR ever made) and VW Phaeton W12, I was going to buy another Jag (XJR), but my girl started screaming " you spend thousands on maintenance of your stupid cars, why don't you buy a car which is cheap to own?", so I bought Lexus RX350 (honestly, I have no idea why I listened to her...)
And now I find myself looking for Jaguars again... :/
