2007 RX350- Trailer Harness
I recently bought a CPO 2007 RX350- the sales guy suggested that I add my own trailer hitch as he saw I had a Reese on my trade-in Hylander- he also said that the RX had the TO and that the wire harness was just an easy plug in- now I'm finding out that the wire harness is buried beneath the rear area and will take some work to get at and that I can only get the connector from Lexus and they will only sell it paired with the hitch (I have already purchased and installed an after market hitch)
is there an aftermarket direct plug in or has anyone been able to purchase just the wire harness from Lexus
does anyone have good instructions as how to install the wire harness- I have seen that someone has done it through a hole in the bottom of the truck- anyone else try that

have went with OEM hitch which is a direct plug-n-play and very clean fit. Have you considered taking the aftermarket hitch back and going with an OEM solution, since its only like $200 if you buy it through one of preferred dealers..

eBay Motors has one for the 400H. I would think is would also fit the RX. Item #300413537917 (06-10 Lexus RX400H Trailer Hitch Wiring Tow Kit RX 400H).
Also this one for the RX. More expensive: 140336591836

Is that true? You can not buy the connector harness all by itself? The reason I ask is that I just tried to use the hitch this weekend, and could not because the connector was all corroded and the lights would not work. I cleaned it out as best I could, but it looks like the copper is just gone out of one of the socket holes. I assumed I could just buy a new harness and hook it up! Now I need to splice in an new connector I guess.
