Everything else on the internet failed (including the procedures posted above), but this procedure worked for me on my 2006 RX330:

Just replaced a broken key fob on my 2006 RX330. Ordered a pair of pre cut "switch blade" keys with cases from 1010keys. Texted a photo of my current key and 4 days later, after swapping the button modules, have 2 fully operational keys. All for $40.

Here is the picture of the eBay keys, they work perfectly and the seller even included a write up of how to clean the lock cylinder to prevent future breakage. The sub key shown came with the car and the two master transmitters also, but with broken shells. Now I don't have to hide my broken and glued OEM shells when getting in and out of the car with people around.

I ordered a flip key from 1010keys on eBay, and it does come with a stick-on Lexus emblem for on the back of it. It seems to be holding up pretty decent so far (the emblem). I put the electronics in it from my other key, and it works perfect. The cut was perfect (sent a text to the number in the listing with key code and pictures of the blade from my current key).

Just wanted to share a bad experience with the products from KeylessKing on ebay aka remotesremotes.com
While the shipping/return process was fast, the product was lacking in two major areas: First, the transponder chip was incorrect (unacceptable to the ECU), which means the can never be started. Second, the power door hatch function does not operate with their keys. I tried two locksmiths, the second one had new transponder chip to sell me, but the rear hatch function still didn't work with that key. I suspect the keys would work on a Toyota badged product, but they certainly aren't correct for lexus products.

Also transponder and keyless entry are two separate chips which needed to be programmed independently from each other. Haven't done Lexus but on Toyota's I have in the past been able to program one of the two which always rendered keyless entry keys useless in one of the two senses. Either I could start the car but not open doors/trunk or vice versa. It wasn't until I could get the hang of it could I program both sides of the key.
