RX330 BEEP BEEP Remote Sound ****>> No More Beeps Please
I used have a ES300 and under the dash was a **** or volume dial that you would turn to adjust the beep beep noise from the lock and unlock on the remote. How do I do it on the RX?
I lock my car from the door so I don't need a beep, but when I press unlock it beeps for 4 times and its so annoying and people always look kind of embarrassing. its weird most cars honk on lock and flash signal light when unlocking.

i prefer the beep over a honk. there's something barbaric about a honk.
but this is a feature that you can ask your dealer to do...for a price though. its under the lexus personalized settings.

I hate Lexus Personalized Settings; I feel its a conspiracy to extort money out of costumers.
Lexus should learn from GM regarding Vehicle Settings I think thats one thing we can complement GM for. How one can change their own settings in the dash.

not sure but our Chevy Impala rental had a slew of options in the Odometer of the car; like headlight delay, and locking with speed, etc, it was pretty cool

The alarm sound disable is a factory personallize option. If you didnt do it when you bought the car, it would fall into the normal labor rate for repair. Half of an hours of labor is about $50 to $60 dollars. I dont think the dealer can convert the temperature readings from Farenheit to Celsius without replacing parts.

I like the "beep" on my '04 RX: one for lock (one syllable) and 2 for unlock, as it's a confirmation that does not require me to be looking at the car to see the lights flash. What I don't like is the repeated beeps on powering the rear door, which can't be disabled (without automobile surgery). From '05 and beyond, there is a setting to disable this beeping that can be set by the dealer, but that's no help for owners of '04s, other than an indication that there must have been some strong negative feedback on this.

Twenty years ago, I had a 1990 Olds 98. It had more advanced features (and rode better) than my 2007 RX 350. Every single one of the "Personalizations" could be set by the driver. When I first read my Owner's Manual and learned that you have to have Lexus set your Personal Settings, I couldn't believe it. I don't mind paying for required services, but being ripped off is another thing. My RX has 35K miles and at 50K, I will dump it for a Ford truck.

Not to mention that most of the settings can be user-set in newer Lexus models. In any event, having these settings done while having the car in for service is hardly such a monumental effort or inconvenience that it should suggest the draconian response of moving from a Lexus to a Ford truck.
I've ridden in Ford trucks, I've driven Ford trucks, friends of mine have Ford trucks, and the Ford truck is no Lexus.
