Has anyone installed the Lexus version ipod adapter so that you can play in your car? Its a plug and play unit seems pretty good but want to hear from people that have used them....
Also what did you pay for it?

Tell me more about this adapter, I haven't heard about it. I've been using a Griffin RF adapter, attached to bottom of iPod, and -almost- satisfied with it.

Toyota/Lexus iPod interface PT545-00082
I recently installed the Toyota/Lexus iPod interface. The directions downloaded from the web were incomplete for the RX350, but the install was straight forward. Install directions don't come with the part. They left out the need to remove the wood trim around the shifter. You don't need to remove the glove box, just pivot the glove box down as if you were replacing the cabin air filter. I used an 1 1/8" hole saw at a slight angle to drill the hole, just take your time and be sure the drill bit does not move. I practiced drilling at an angle on some hardwood first. Heed the advice to avoid dropping 2 of the 4 bolts holding the radio. I found that a sears magnetic socket insert was useless, too weak and the bolt have a concave head. I used a sears magnetic pickup instead to do the final unscrewing and removal as well as to restart the 2 bolts in their threads. I also made a stiff paper "chute" to guide the the 2 bolts out in case they did drop. I used towels to cover EVERYTHING I might contact and was glad I did. The whole process once you have the tools and parts in hand takes less than 1 hour, and I really take my time. Performance: The user interface is OK, not wonderful, but once I got used to the various commands I'm happy, lots of flexibility (by genre, playlist, album, title, artist, etc. The sound is great. I was amazed and pleased that all the screen detail is available while the car is moving. If you search this forum you can see photos showing how to remove the radio. I think it was a VAIS installation. I get an employee discount, so the price was just under $200.

Lexus ipod adaptor with no nav?
As far as I know it will work without the NAV. The instructions in the box show all the commands using the radio buttons and the surrounding buttons. I've tried several and they do work. You can stop at a dealer and look at the instructions to see if you want to deal with learning and remembering what each button does. I think it's worth the trouble.

I had mine done yesterday from the dealer, the quote for $521 +Tax, but they charge for $504 total.
I try using my wife Ipod Touch 32Gig, it working and sound OK. very confusing and limited function. ETC, change Album using Tuning *** and press (#6) or press Select on Screen.
cannot search song (have to use tuning *** to select song
there are 338 songs I have on one folder, if I want to listen to song number 90 I have to turn the tuning *** to sat0090. Playlist only show one title at a time.
I won't recommend. I cost me over a thousand between Ipod Touch and Lexus Ipod Kits.

I have complete the learning experience with Lexus Ipod Kits.
my answer to you all, please look to alternative source like Viastech, might have a better functional and easy to operate.
Lexus Ipod Kits; Playlist is none existence. You must using Tuning **** to turn through playlist one by one. (no listing you can only see one title at time)
Lexus Ipod Kits; Folder List is none existence. You must using Tuning **** to scroll down to each folder (no listing you can only see one folder at a time).
No easy to operate, all songs track see as SAT0001 channel. to view title have to press TEXT button.
big dissapointment
