Page 307--309 of that thing called the owners manual

(..) set is for tire pressure monitor when you install a new tire or just to reset your pressures

Trac off disables your traction control--I know for 08 models you can hold that button and it turns off both TRAC and VSC until you restart vehicle--thats going to make some fun in the snow for me this winter Ill be out of control.....lol

Main and 2nd set is for your tire pressure sensors as well--always on main cause thats what is on your car. Say you have another set of tires (snow tires)--differant pressures ect....set that to 2nd set of tires if you have the moitors installed in those tires???

New for 06 or 07 I believe. It was when Lexus switched from passive TPMS like we have in the 2004/2005 and possible the 2006 RX to the Active TPMS where you need special valve stems that measure the tire pressure internally and transmit that data back to the car wirelessly.

Yes its a better system, instead of using tire rotation to detect low pressure, the new system has a pressure sensor on the tire valve stem.
