'08 RX350 Dial by Number Question
I've had my '08 RX350 for about two weeks now and I am really, really happy with it. One question I have though is in regards to the Dial by Number function. I am able to use the voice commands to enter the number as prompted. Everything goes smooth until the command tells you to either press the voice command button or off hook button to dial. When the voice command button is depressed it cancels out the number you gave it. So I tried the off hook button and the number doesn't dial when that is depressed either. When I depress the off hook button the screen changes over to the keypad but no dialing takes place.
Oh and when I tried to use the Nav manual for guidance the prompts are different in the book than what the actual system gives you.
Help! What am I doing wrong?
Thanks for taking the time to help out a newbie!

You have to wait till the system is ready, or else it'll do as you described. When I use that function, I make sure to give it the number, let it tell me to push the off-hook switch, then wait till the display has updated at the end of that message. Pushing the off-hook switch on the steering wheel will then dial the number.

The only time the screen has updated for me so far is when I give it the Dial by Number command. After I tell it the number - it then display the number given. Then it gets to the Talk/Off Hook issue. So once it tells me to push the off hook button I should wait for the screen to change before depressing the off hook button? What does the screen change to (and how long does it take to change)? Is it the keypad? Then once the screen changes I can then push the off hook button?
Sorry for all the questions but the operation of this function is just confusing and I'm kind of in the dark because the manual does not reflect the true operation of this function.
Thanks for your patience and all your help!
