Liquid from sideview mirror stains paint
I need help. I broke my driver sideview mirror on my white 2005 rx 330 7 mos old . When I brought it in green liquid was leakiing out of the mirror. When I picked it up they told me the green liquid stained my white doors front and back and they were not responsible for the staining so I now need a new paint job at the cost of $2000.00. I called lexus customer service but they said put it through your insurance and they will research this issue. Did anyone ever hear of the broken sideview mirror leaking green liquid that stains your paint? This is upsetting and I can't find any other dealer who agrees this is the reason for the pink paint like stains on my RX. So much for JM lexus customer service! Please let me know if you have ever heard this problem.

I've never heard of anything like this.

Sorry to hear about the stain I had a 98 GS 300 prior to my RX and one day when wife was driving it the drivers side mirror was broken off by a "flying box" (it was windy with gusts to 50 mph). She was on an interstate overpass with no where to go to avoid it. Broke the lens completely out but did not break the housing or mount, just dangled on the wires. The GS was burnished gold and showed no signs of any liquid flowing onto it. Also when I looked at it when she got home I found no liquid of any type. Was even at the body shop standing there watching them change the new one in and didn't see any liquid either. I would really wonder where it came from. Hope Lexus has an answer for you.

I don't think the motors or the self-dimming feature (which is electronic, I am pretty sure) have any liquid in them. The only thing I can think of would be that some water had accumulated inside the mirror housing and absorbed some green color by interacting with the parts in there. However, water should not accumulate in there, of course.
This is very strange indeed. I am going with the green man theory.

Hmm....On our ML320, the manual says that the interior rear view mirror has some sort of liquid inside, and in case of an accident, stay away from that liquid.
I lost the manual of the RX330, so I don't know how it works.

Very likely has to do with auto dimming feature of the sideview mirror. When my rav4's autodimming rearview mirror quit working, there was a dark liquid that concentrated in the center of the mirror. However, I do not remember the liquid being green, it was more dark brown in color.
