2004 RX330 Passenger "AIRBAG OFF" light....
Whenever me(160 lbs) or my wife(110 lbs) sit in the front passenger seat, the Passenger "AIRBAG OFF" light comes on when the car is started, and remains lit shortly after ignition. I've read the manual, and this doesn't seem normal.
I'm taking it to the dealer, but I was curious if anyone else has this problem. I found one other person on another forum that has this problem.....anyone else?

I've never paid attention to the light when a passenger is in the car, but it sounds like what you're talking about is normal as long as "shorty after ignition" is only a few seconds.
The system is designed to measure the amount of weight in the passenger seat, and based on that it can disable the passenger airbag. The idea is to avoid doing more harm than good for liitle kids, even though they shouldn't be in that seat in the first place.
I've found that 2 gallons of milk are a perfect test - it disables the airbag when the milk is on the seat. In that case, the light stays on for the entire trip. (That's how I first noticed the airbag light!)

Airbag on passenger side light on that it is off
Airbag light on showing that it is not working. Is this an easy fix or do I have to take it in? How much is the cost of this fix? I hope I did this post correctly...first time poster.
