? from a newbie
Can someone please tell me if the 18 inch wheels in the performance package are those high polished chrome wheels? I'm looking into purchasing within the next few months and am looking into options. I would like to get the largest wheels possible, but I do not care for that high polished bling look. Also, and please keep in mind I'm an older guy and new to this forum, I just don't see this vehicle being worth 40 plus thousand dollars. Will I be able to walk out of the showroom at 35,000 or under? I will take the basic options, but I definately want the all-wheel drive. Don't care about back-up camera, navagation, heated seats, etc. I'm from the midwest, by the way. Illinois. Go bears. (Yeah, right) Thanks everyone.

Welcome!! And I'm (probably) even older (50 in a couple months).
Chrome is a seperate option, regardless of package, so not to worry. Whether you can get one for <$35k will depend on your area and precisely what options you do want. You might go over to Edmunds.com and "build" one as you would option it. They provide list price, dealer cost (I know, but it's accurate as long as you don't worry about dealer withhold........that's never a negotiable number, anyway), and what they call "TMV" or true market value. It'll give you some idea of what they're going for in your area.
More dealers means better deals but we're still pretty early in the year for Lexus' most popular vehicle by sales numbers, so you might not do as well now as if you wait till, say, May.

lexus.com shows that the 18 inchers are a $215 option which is a bargain but may only be available with a package. These are the standard grey, not the graphite polished or the chrome. You may have a challenge with your out-the-door $35k target with awd since the base list with delivery is over $37k and i wouldn't suspect many dealers carry these non leather non sunroof vehicles on thier lots. let us know!
