Spoiler's are they interchngeable?

Early RX had a slanted spoiler (with an air gap) and the later models have a straight jutting out spoiler.

Are they interchangeable or the whole lift gate has to be swapped?

I have an 03 with the slanted down spoiler, my friend had an 02 with no spoiler and another with a 01 with the big straight back one. I'm not sure if it was a dealer order or some kind of optional accessory.
