RX300 ABS issues
I really hate to post another ABS thread but I'm can't seem to figure out the problem.
I have been driving the 2000 AWD RX300 without ABS for a while (pulled connector by ABS per lexmex's post) but recently replaced the alternator and battery so I want to fix the ABS too. The problem seemed to appear after a front brake change (new pad and rotors).
I followed many different thread on debugging the ABS like this one but still can't find the problem.
I measured the ABS sensors with a DVM and got around 1.7k ohms on each.
I pulled the front ABS sensors and verified the reluctor rings are not broken or loose. I pulled the left rear axle and verified the reluctor ring is good. I replaced the left rear ABS sensor after I broke it trying to check the reluctor ring.
After the alternator and battery update, I was getting codes 11, 14, 22, 24, 34 and 41. See BillJoeBob's post.
11 = open circuit in ABS control solenoid
14 = short circuit in ABS control motor
22 = open or short circuit in 3-position solenoid circuit left front
24 = open or short circuit in 3-position solenoid left rear
34 = left rear wheel speed sensor
41 = low battery positive voltage or abnormally high battery positive voltage.
I cleared the codes following page 7 and ran the speed sensor check (see page 8).
Now I get 71,72,73,74,75,76,77, and 78. Seems like something is causing all codes to appear. I'm not getting any of the above codes (11,14,22, ...) any more.
Any thoughts?
