Default Theres something seriously wrong with my 2000 RX 300

I have owned my 2000 RX 300 for 2 years now and currently has 152000 miles. I live in North Dakota in a small town and just got out of a rough cold winter and was hard on my car. My transmission was rebuilt 2 years ago and has a 3 year warranty and I have an appointment to have it check in a few weeks but everyday my car feels it is going to break down while either coming or going to work.

-The Starter I feel is starting to go bad as it takes longer having the key turned to start. but thats not the main problem.

- Once the car is started the RPM is around 1500-2000 and slowly goes to 1000 and below after 10 minutes of getting warmed up even when it was 50F like the other day.

- While the car is warming up I feel a dim grinding sound under my seat sometimes that goes in a rhythm of grinding with light vibration.

- When I switch to reverse it switches fine but the RPM gets confused for a brief second and goes down then up slightly and back down to under 500-750RPM

-When I switch to Drive my car most times gives a little shock forward.

-Switch to second gear gives a tiny shock.

-Once on road the switch to 3 gear sometimes it will go up to 3000RPM and give another noticeable shock when it switches from second to third.

-The switch to 4th gears feels very nonexistent as it switches but the RPM goes down 100 and when you go over 65 it is at 3000RPM and the speed limit over here is 75 so I turn my Hazards when I go to work. which is 20 miles one way on highway.

- It usually does all this at least once day and if I am driving after all these problem and I am slowing down it feels fine and when it upshifts again it driving good and doesn't give no jerking motions.

-Not very often but I feel very light grinding on foot pedal when driving on highway but hasn't happened for around 2 weeks.

This has been going on for a month now and been doing research. I concluded that it is either the transmission or the transfer case. If you guys could help that would be great as I'm not sure what I can do and if it was possible to fix by myself I would definitely do it in a heartbeat.

This is typical of the RX300 transmission, particualrly when the weather is cold.

Can't comment on the other problems - sounds like you have some fuel system problems.

Try disconnecting the battery cable, then reconnect. This will reset the computer back to factory settings, and then it will start to re-program itself for the transmission shift points that you need for your style of driving.
