Default AC runs during brakes, stops during acceleration

I drive an RX300, with about 139,000 miles.

All of a sudden my air conditioning and/or heater stops running when I accelerate. And when I come to a stop, or hit the brake to slow down, the heater or air conditioning starts up. It won't run constantly anymore. Only when I apply the brake or am stopped.

If you're heard of this one and know of a place that won't cost an arm and a leg to get it fixed, it would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Welcome to the Club.

Thing that comes to mind is perhaps a loose accessory belt. I get something like that when it is very wet and/or having gone through some deep water and the belts will squeal and the air condition won't kick in.

Have you had any issues with a squealing belt?

Thanks.

No squealing belts, but I'm guessing it's an engine belt issue. Chances are I'll be taking it in .
