Winding/whining noise?
I'm trying to help fix my sisters 2002 Rx 300 and there is this winding sound that I have no idea what is its. It sounds like its coming from the drivers side of the engine area. You can hear it clearly at idle on a cold engine but when warm it goes away at idle. Its not a screeching sound, more of a winding. The sound goes higher when you rev up the engine. The sound happens when parked or while driving.
Does anyone have any ideas what this could be? I've tried searching on here and saw some talk about the power steering pump or maybe a transmission problem but I don't know.
I made a couple of videos to give a clearer picture of what I'm talking about.

I am sorry, it is transmission, if it comes from driver side.......bad indication, like mine...
Power steering is on the passenger side.
Here is a link I paid $36 to discuss with Lexus Expert Mechanic, who repaired hundreds of this model:

Simple questions,
who can say: the shift solenoid failure on this car is common, without enough experience? Since P0770 can be caused by many other factors, if you search the web.
who has the confidence to say: if the trans is whining, the trans is for sure to die? Not just replace the pump or change trans fluid, or what else.......
I don't think I wasted a penny. I am glad that the problem is targeted by $36, not by a lot of experiments with infinite money input. (the repair man loves...)
