VSC on 2001 RX300
2001 Lexus Truck RX 300 AWD V6-3.0L (1MZ-FE)
VSC light comes on after driving and again after reset. I belong to AllData and have asked this same question. How to you check and repair this problem? All help will be appreciated. Thanks
Thanks to all for info. The DTC was P1130 & P1150. Both Air Fuel sensors on exhaust manifolds. Impossible reading?? NUMEROUS WEB MSGS THAT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ALSO TRIGGERS VSC. Also check hose on Air Filter Box. Was OK but then realized if fuel checks OK how about Air. Ya got it, I use a K&N air filter (but not on car for 50,000 miles). I washed it and reoiled using K&N kit. Reset DTC and no more check engine and VSC light. I would be very cautious before replacing a A/F sensor before checking all fuel and air possibilities. So replace paper air filters often and/or wash and reoil K&M at about 30,000.

I thought Alldata has information like diagnostic procedures. The repair manual set for my LS has a 44 page diagnostic procedure for VSC. If you can't find the procedure for your RX on Alldata, you could either get repair manuals for your RX or subscribe to Lexus Techinfo to view the procedure on-line.

Then forget what I said above about zero point calibration. That only applies if you just have a VSC light. You basically have a check engine light on. The VSC light comes on with it by design. Nobody really knows why, maybe to get your attention. You need to get the code read by plugging a scan tool into the OBDII port to determine what is causing the problem. Most Autozones will do this for free. Or you could just pull the EFI fuse or disconnect the battery to reset the light and see if it comes back on.
