Default Need help! Clicking sound when acceleration

This vehicle is 2000 Lexus RX300 AWD, has 152,000 miles on the odometer.

I heard clicking sound came from rear passenger side of the vehicle when accelerate at speed around 25 - 40 mph this morning. The clicking sound goes away when speed over 45 - 50 mph. After 30 minutes later, check engine light went on.

Dealer told me that one of the engine sensor is no good (control air and gasoline mixture: sounds like an Oxygen Sensor to me) and it needs to be replaced before they could go further investigation. My decision is to ask the dealer to clear the check engine light, just test drive the car.

Does anyone know what might be the problem?

Only if we have the code will we actually know what this is on the light.

Not sure about the clicking sound.

Could be a bad cv/axle on the R/R

Your suggestion to the dealer to clear the check engine light, just test drive the car, is right on the money. I don't see how a bad O2 sensor is going to cause a clicking noise from the right rear, so these sound like two unrelated problems. Why on earth can't they come up with suggestions like this instead of their usual "Let's try this and see" approach (and if it doesn't work we'll try charging you for something else that won't work, either).

There is a possibility that I am aware of now after giving it some thought with regard to the clicking I'd have them check all of the bolts pertaining to rear alignment, of which the driver's side ones are shown here squared off in yellow.

After check in to the Lexus dealer, technician diagnosis that the mass air flow sensor was bad need to be replaced. The technician explain that the air does not mix properly with gasoline. There is a hesitation from the rear trans axle causing clicking sound.
After replacing the sensor. The clicking sound goes away.

??????? I had a bad airflow sensor a couple of years ago - no clicking from the rear suspension then ???????

But if the problem has gone away, I guess it's gone away!
