Roof Rack help
I recently tried to move the front crossbars on my '99 RX and it appears to be stuck in place. It's the original, taller design and I did loosen the ***** before attempting to move it. What the heck am I doing wrong? Any help, please?

The front and back rack bars can be removed but you can not reposition them (slide) them.
Once you remove the bars, you can see two screws (star or torx) which hold the base of the connector down. I am NOT sure if the same screws are holding the assembly to the roof. The only inference I can make is that since the screw heads are torx, they are not intended to be unscrewed by customer/owner.
I wish I knew for certain.

Thanks Salimsha
Appreciate your response and insight. I'm planning on asking my dealership's service department and see if they have heard about Lexus replacing the old racks with the newer racks... Thanks again.
