Default Floor Mats

I've actually had the Husky floor mats before I owned the Rex! I researched floor "liners" (which is what they really are) early on because I wanted to protect my new Rex's beautiful interior.

These mats are incredible because they are "molded" to fit the exact contours of the floor area. Get both the front and rear ones, you won't be sorry!

well, RX300TC, I will certainly have to add those mats to by list of things to buy for my RX - I think I'll call mine "Rex" too

Default Floor Mats

The DVD nav is not connected to the stock sound system. I have a speaker connected to the cva1005 and the nav audio is sent to it.

I got the mats at www.mats4less.com Good prices!

The wood kit is from exotic wood dash. I used the dash, roof sun glass compartment and upper vent parts. I saved the other parts of the kit. I did not want to over do it.

Hey, I was wondering if you can post more pics of your navigation system. Can you open the screen when it is in park? can you have an open screen and still park? Can you actually play DVD movies? as for the additional speaker for the DVD audio, where did you place it? I am dying to see more pics. E-mail if you can.

Thanks

I will have to take more pics...

You can put the shift in park with the LCD open but you must be in N or drive to open the LCD. When its in park you have about two fingers between the LCD and the shift.

I used a small computer speaker and just velcroed it to the floor in front of the center console. You could also fit one behind & under the lower dash.

The DVD is just for NAV it wont play movies. I think you can add an aditional DVD player to the head unit to do that..... BUT I DONT RECOMMEND DRIVING AND PLAYING DVD MOVIES!!!!!!

Jmezo, what is your e-mail address, I have been trying to e-mail you but I was not able to. Let me know. Also I am wondering how much the navigation cost you? can you customize the screens, so when you start it up the lexus logo shows up or something? let me know. Does the system control radio? I know it has the capability.

Thanks

P.S. Get more photos.

My email is j.mesolella@att.net

The head unit (LCD) has a radio in it but I dont use it. I kept the stock radio and use the head unit for nav only.
I dont know of any way to customize the display.
Cost about $1100. for Head unit CVA1005 and $1800 for the NVE852A. EBAY has all this stuff all the time.

how does the screen work? is it touch screen to enter your address? also I was looking to put in a system looking something like the image I have attached. Do you think that it is possible? where when you press a button the screen comes out and when you press the button again the screen goes down? Did you put in your system yourself? Are you going to the lexus meet on sunday? Let me know.

Thanks

redtoesblue,

The only way I know of to have a Lexus Logo or somthing similar is to hook up a computer to the screen.

That would mean putting more stuff into to car. Maybe you can get into the unit and change it up.? anyways, I am looking for any possible way to get a clean looking navi in my rx300. Any other recommendations?

I have a good idea, I have attached an image of a cover, so I was thinking I could make a system like Apple makes for the CD roms, when you press the door the tray pops out. So the look is clean. The same concept would apply here as well. Put a small door like this over only the head unit so you just have to press the door and the screen will pop up. The head unit setup will be like Jmezo's setup. What do you guys think? Would it work? Help me out on this.

Thanks

Yeah, that is a pretty good system, but I really do not have a need for a pc in my car. I have a pocket pc, a laptop, so there is no need for more, but it is a really good idea. Also do you know of any pics of RX300 navigation installations?
