Default PLUS1RXv2.0 Build Thread.

Moved on from my beloved 2010 RX450h because I simply fell in love with the technology that the new 2016 RX450h has to offer, the F sport option, as well as the new headlight and taillight styling. Decided to change up from the Obsidian black to a sportier Ultra White.

The previous build can be found here:

I am a big fan of keeping things as OEM as possible but I love modifying as well. With the old RX we decided to hide the Accuair eLevel controller in the driver side cup holder.

After just sitting in a 2016 I already had the thought that the eLevel control can fit right in the device holder nicely tucked away.

Visually the suspension looked similar and I wanted to take the chance that it would swap over. So I took the leap to purchase the new 2016 and with the help of my brother... start turning the 2010 back to stock and slowly test-fit/transfer things over.

So the test fit begins...

eLevel sits nicely inside.

Top and bottom bolts mount good. The ABS wire harness mounting was not the same.

Rear bag mounts good, as with the 2010, I have to drill the hole for the rear LCA to secure the bottom of the bag.

Old set up drops right in.

Started to slowly run the lines.

Airrunner strut designed for a 2010 where the ABS harness clamps on with claw style plastic. On the 2016, there is a welded bracket. The 2010 style clamp was not available without buying the complete harness. I decided to tap and thread the hole where the claw clamp would go. This allowed the OEM 12mm bolt to go right in with the help of a spacer.

any reasons you prefer these old wheels over the gorgeous '16 fsport wheels?

Did you install the running boards yourself? If so how hard was it? Pics of the install?

Thanks

don't recommend fit on these yourself unless you have the proper tools. You need a strong pneumatic rivnut setting tool to set the nutserts into place to hold the running boards in place

True, I came from a CT200h and it's slammed it looks like the CT's bigger bad *** brother. I wonder how it looks with the fender guards painted/wrapped. Nevertheless, super sexy and probably the first bagged 4RX in the states right? Nice work!

Just found this gem of a thread hiding. Amazing.

I absolutely love it and the pls1rx was nothing short of spectacular either.

Could you please share any differences in ride between the static OEM suspension and the AIR? Any updates? =)
