Default 2015 Rx450h versus 2016 450h

Please excuse me if it's the wrong forum, but the hybrid forum only mentions till 2015.

Need to get a new car and am between the RX -- can get the 2016 with the pre-collision , adaptive radar for 54000 (not bad I feel).

Another dealer has the closeout 2015 for $48500 but no pre-collision or adaptive radar. Both have blind spot.

Which one is the better bet?

I'm a bit concerned that the New RX is "Bigger" -- that is harder to maneuver and park (length 189 versus 192). But, really, not sure if the drive and experience changed too much. Test drives are so short.

Thank you for any help and support.

They both accept regular gas right?

First, both the '15 and '16 RX450h take premium. The '12+ RX350 accepts regular.

Besides the obvious design differences inside and out, the '16 got a slight bump in HP. It also offers more features and options. The size difference is negligible IMO. The best thing to do is come up with a list of things that are important to you. If that includes pre-collision and adaptive cruise control, it's all speed on the '16 now. And ask the dealer for an extended test drive. The best vehicle is the one you're most happy with. Good luck.

Probably the biggest difference is the body styling.

How long will you keep it?
If under 7 years or so I'd take the non hybrid since the gas savings won't pay off until then anyway.

Safety-wise, I'd go for the 2016 model, IMO pre collision and adaptive radar worth well the difference.

Newer is better if you are willing to risk new gen 1st year issues. It will be safer, it's much quieter, it's easier to park especially with the panoramic monitor.

I would very much like to buy my RX with the Panoramic Monitor option but it seems so few cars come with it. I'm glad to hear that it helps with parking as my biggest concern after 1st year reliability is side/rearward looking visibility. A back-up camera is great but only helps to a certain extent. (I'm not interested in ordering a car - I'd prefer to buy something on the dealer's lot.) Why aren't they manufacturing more RX's with this great new feature (panoramic monitor)?
