Blind Spot Monitor False Positives
Hello, picked up a CPO 2015 RX350 about 8 months ago. So far, love it. But a few weeks ago, the drivers side BSM started alerting periodically when there was no reason. Side streets, etc. Day or night, all weather conditions, it would act up, but only intermittently. Curiously, when it does act up, I can often get it to come on simply by placing my foot on the brake pedal.
Took it in to my dealer, and initially they could not reproduce the problem, and the health check they ran on the vehicle came back clean. So, I took a technician for a drive, and it misbehaved ALOT. So, over the course of the next week, they removed the bumper, aligned and recalibrated the sensors, and reset the system. It sorta behaved for a day or so, and is now back to the same intermittent false alerts.
Dealer is stumped, saying they've never seen this behaviour before. Have any of you? Any suggestions on what I should tell the dealer to look for? Greatly appreciate any feedback.
