Rear Diff seal leak

Things do wear out eventually. How bad a leak was it? Have you had it repaired? How much to replace the seal?
Most such leaks just make the differential wet and drip so slowly you can just top up the fluid every year. I did that on my 95 Explorer for several years. It only took 5 minutes to add more fluid.

When I noticed it, there was about a half ounce on the garage floor. My best guess was it was about 1-2 oz. low. I bought it as a CPO. Had the free 24 hr. road service so I had it towed on a flatbed to the dealer just In case (didn't want to run it dry). Seal was replaced under warranty.
Cost if not under warrant was $375. Took 2 days with a nice 2015 loaner. All is well

Happy it was a simple problem after all.
Only $375 to repair at the dealer, like I said earlier easy job to do if someone had to do it at home.
Most of that cost was mostly labor cost, and it only took as long as two days I bet because they may have had to order the seal since it seems like a very rare issue to happen and the dealership parts section probably did not have any of the axle seals in-house.
However, if someone have not ever done any axle work on a car then it would be better to just pay Lexus to do it.
