Has anyone had this happen? now and then when I open the sunroof it sticks and wont open... then I close it and try again and it opens but it makes a pop noise as if something sticking.... happens now and then.

I am thinking some grease or oil somewhere is needed?

Still under warranty? I had this issue on a 1994 Mazda and had to clean and re-grease the rails etc periodically or it groaned and was slow. However, it may be more than that from your symptoms and the dealer should check it out.
