Turn off car, door open, beep.. why?
If you open your door just before you turn off the car, it dings until you shut the door. Why? My other car with keyless didn't do that.
It doesn't make sense. Its in Park, the steering wheel moves forward... yet it beeps continulously if the door is open before you hit off like you left lights on or something.

It's a gentle reminder to turn off the car. You'd be surprised, a few members have ignored it and left their vehicles on. Push the black button inside the door jamb to silence the beep. The RX also gives you a single beep when you leave the moonroof open. A message displays in the dash too.

But the beeping doesn't start until the car is off. So its already off and its warning you of... what? "Warning, you turned off car with door open, close door"???

it beeps at you to let you know the steering wheel isn't locked. If you notice, you will hear a locking mechanism engaging inside your steering wheel if you press that black button while its dinging. This isn't a bug as this happens in our ES, RX f-sport, and our GS F-sport. I even have an Altima coupe with the keyless entry and if i opened the door before i turned off the car, it will constantly beep at me as well until i close the door or hit the door jam button. So try turning off your car FIRST then open the door, you won't here the dings unless you left your moonroof open.

I would want it to beep when the engine is still on and door is open. 4GS will beep at you randomly for no reason. Engine off, all closed and it still beeps randomly at you when you exit

Did anyone figure out if this is a bug or a setting that can be turned off?
To be clear, as lili43 described, my problem is also: turn off car (steering wheel and seat retract), open door, beeping starts.
Seems to usually or always happen. Seems wrong and pointless to beep when you turn off something. What is it trying to warn against!? How can we turn that off?
THANKS!!!

Check the dashboard display the next time it beeps. Whenever my car beeps, it shows me why on the dashboard.
But it sounds like something is broken. I can get out of my 2015RX while the engine is running and it won't beep (unless I take the key fob with me, then it beeps and the display says "key fob not detected")

You know, I just had to comment on these various dilemmas. My DD is a pristine '99RX that I would drive anywhere on a moment's notice, she's in that good of shape. We recently got my wife a 2012 RX350 when her '02 Highlander got totaled, and it has been interesting to me when I drive the RX350 as to how many "dings" I get when operating the vehicle. I told my wife that her car makes too many "assumptions" about what I want to do, who is getting in the car, you get the picture. My '99RX simply does what I want it to do when I want to do it.

Maybe it's because I understand the technology, and I customize all the settings I can, but my 2015Rx almost never beeps. I get in, I start it, I drive it, I park it, I get out and lock the doors. Not a beep. And I love that it reminds me when I leave the sun roof opened.
Everything is fine as long as there are no malfunctions, like the OP is experiencing.
