2010 : Are BOTH lights suppose to turn when turning?
Just had car fixed from accident, I thought for sure BOTH headlights moved when going around corner and then straighten out?? Now with my new lights only one is turning, If I turn Right the right one turns ,etc....
Can someone please confirm what they are suppose to do?? I could of sworn both turned before my accident.
Thanks!!

it just seems ODD to me ... as when I turn you kind of have a blacked out area when light is turned since other light isn't turned...you have that separation of the lights. ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

The short answer is NO. The inside headlight angles a few degrees toward the turn, the outside headlight stays as it was. For instance if you're on a country road above 25mph and it's curvy, the right hand light for instance can angle a few degrees to the right in a right hand turn to provide illumination on that side of the road. Just the opposite for a left hand turn. It's a feature on my 2010 that has kept me from trading for a 2015 without it. I don't have the answers why Lexus did away with it, but as they did others were starting to offer it.

I called Lexus and the parts guy said the other light turns just a little but said I prob wouldn't notice it... oh well.. 15K later in repairs my car is back!

No, I don't play soccer!
3894days, it's called adaptive frontal-lighting system, or AFS for short. The headlight moves during a turn on that side only, 15% on the passenger side, 5% on the driver side IIRC. I guess it's less on the driver side because there's more visibility. I can see the movement when pulling into a parking space in the garage at work. Subtle and of limited use but a pretty neat feature. I hope Lexus brings it back.

What was the last model year for the AFS feature? I am of the same opinion that I would not like to be with out that feature. We drive out in the country and it's great to that expanded view at night.
