clean AutoCheck report. (shop printed it for me, they don't have carfax)

both exterior and interior are decent shape, no visible dents/scatches.

final price $27500 + registeration and plates.

can you guys please tell me if this is a good deal? I would like to close soon, please advise what to be careful for, my first time buying a used car.

I saw a 2010 bring more than that recently, if the car checks out then it's a very good price.

one thing I noticed on the Autocheck report is that under Detailed Vehicle History, it doesn't show much about the mileage reports, it shows the vehicle was manufactured and then it was reported to auto auction recently, nothing in between. anything to worried about this?

Yes ... you know nothing about the car. I wouldn't buy a car from an auction. Price seems good.

The car should have the maintenance records. If not the dealer can check on the Lexus site. All service records done by Lexus or Toyota or manually entered by the owner are stored there.

A lot of cars get sold through auctions. That's how many dealers get their cars cheap, other than from trade-ins. I wouldn't be too worried as long as all the maintenance is up to date.

thanks guys, so if I can get the shop to verify all maintenances are up to date then it's good deal? I forgot to include tax in there, out of the door price would be $30k even as I was told.

Flood-damaged vehicles have also been sold at auction by insurance companies showing clean title.

^If flooding is a concern, enter the VIN on this website. The full thread is here. No guarantees all flood damaged vehicles in the tri-state area are in the database. But it's one place to check. BTW, limited areas were affected. And not all auction cars are damaged goods. They're used to move stock around here sometimes.

femin, I'd strongly suggest getting the 450h checked out by a Lexus dealer. It's a small investment and the best way to protect yourself. Also they can print out the maintenance records. Good luck.

That's too bad. I'm sure there's another 450h out there for you. Keep looking. At least now you know what to do. Good luck.

femin- I salute you for doing your due dilligence. Forewarned is forearmed. The price seemed low to me, and now we know why. You will create the perfect car for you. I suggest shopping Lexus dealers for a Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) car. This is a car that's been brought up to like new condition and warranted by the dealer. That's what we bought. Paid a little more, but no regrets.
Good luck. Ray A.
