IMO it doesn't look too bad, but then again maybe I would feel different if it was mine and I saw it in person.
Regardless, I am shocked at the response you rec'd from your dealer since the RX is brand new and you just picked it up.
If it was six months old maybe then I could understand (not that I agree) them trying to brush you off. But since you just picked it up they should have taken care of this with no questions asked..
Let us know how it goes..

This is why Lexus shouldn't outsource manufacturing/assembling of Rx to a Canadian plant. After visiting both the Tahara plant and Cambridge plant, there is a noticeable difference amongst the factory's atmosphere. There is a reason why Jp made Lexus were top notch in terms of quality an attention to details.
-fellow Canadian
P.S. Cambridge plant also makes corolla and CRV. Tahara also does assembly for ISF

Initially I thought the OP was making a big deal out of nothing since it does not look too bad (from the picture). However, I changed my mind after given it more thoughts. The. OP definitely needs to push for the dealer or. Lexus to replace the steering wheel. The seam is raised enough that the wear will accelerate there and the steering wheel will look like crap in a short period of time. Good luck with the fight and let us know how with any update.
Also-did you communicate directly with the dealership GM or owner? I can't believe the way they respond.

Thank you for everyone's feedback. So i received an email reply from the corporate. It said someone will be in contact with me. Hopefully they can resolve this soon.
I have attached what they wrote in their email:
"Thank you for contacting Lexus Customer Satisfaction. We are dedicated to providing superior service. In circumstances that require our attention, we will assist in the resolution process.
I apologize for the concerns that you are experiencing with your vehicle. Lexus would like to look into your concern further, however we would need additional information. Please respond to this email with your mailing address, contact number, VIN and current mileage. Once this has been received, we will be able to look into your concern further."

The leather wrap should be smooth throughout. In the photo, the portion just after the seam is raise a bit on both sides. You probably can feel it when your hand is over it.

The bottom picture definelty has a bump. Other one looks okay to me. I'd have them change out the wheel. You will feel this every time you turn and it will be a sore spot always.

No, I don't play soccer!
rubee, I closely examined my all leather steering wheel (minus the perforations) while cleaning the interior and didn't find any raised areas at the seams. It's flush on both sides. You've taken the right steps contacting Corporate since the dealer doesn't think there is a problem. Thanks for keeping us updated and good luck getting it resolved.
