Default Question about transmission

I have a 2015 Lexus rx 350 it is not all wheel drive. When I put the transmission in drive or reverse I have what I would call a double engagement. It feels like it is going into gear twice. It does not slip it shifts smooth. All imput greatly appreciated. Thanks Bob.

Could just be play in the constant velocity (CV) joints or brake pads shifting. Especially going into reverse brake pads often shift around in the caliper and make a slight noise, same can occur with the CV joints or other parts of the drive train when changing direction. You are just noticing different noises in a new to you vehicle. In a while you will get used to them and not pay any attention. I noticed this with most new vehicles, especially hybrids! If you continue to have concerns, it is all under warranty so ask the dealer. They will probably provide one of 2 standard responses, either they all do that or we have never heard of that before.
