Buy a 2012 RX or 2013 RX?
I am interested in buying a 2012 RX 350 but i really like the Burgundy color available in 2013.
I can buy a 2013 for about $2K more than the 2012.
It seems silly to spend $2K for a color. Can you give me a better excuse to go to 2013? Has anything changed in 2013 to make it a better/different car than 2012?
thanks

The spindle grill was introduced in 2013 so that should make it look newer than a 2012. I honestly am not sure if there were any other changes or not. If so, I'd think they'd be minimal. Even then, not sure if that's worth an extra 2K to you (mileage difference? value would be a little different when it comes time to sell)

Off the top of my head, the changes to the 2013 over the 2012 were the spindle grill, and headlights with LED running lights, as well as new taillights, steering wheel and remote touch, and the addition of the option of the BSM (Blind Spot Monitor). I believe 2013 is also when they improved the center console bin lid. There were also some minor changes to the layout of the center stack/HVAC/audio controls.

It's not silly. As long as you can afford it, you really should get what you really want. If you get a color you don't really love, you'll be reminded of that mistake every time you look at your car. Plus, chances are you will recover most of that extra $2K at trade-in time, as compared to a 2012. Plus, a 2013 will likely have fewer miles on it, and another year of warranty, as long as you keep your miles driven under control.
I have bought used cars in the past where I didn't get my color choice, but never again. I'll even wait for months for the right color if I have to.

The 13 looks better because of the running lights. Plus I also agree you should get the color you really want. I made that mistake once and every time I saw the color I wanted I regretted it.
It would be a bonus if it had BSM. Great feature.

Get the color you want. You'll be glad every time you look at it. That's what we did. Try not to let the salespeople know that you love the Burgundy. This will hurt your negotiating. Try offering the '12 price for the '13 car. Good luck.

Plus the '13 has a Gen 7 Nav system versus the '12's Gen 6. You can use the Enform App Suite as well as receive text messages if your phone is compatible.

Hey thanks for your replies. Still not sure what I will do. Probably depends upon what is available in a couple of weeks. I also like the Cerulean blue but have not seen a live one.
