Fuse Tap
All, I am installing a dash cam and attempting to tap power from the fuse box. I have this:
However, when I tapped to the either cig lighter or power inverter fuses I am getting power from neither.
Now, I am suspecting it might be 1 of the following problems:
1. I have it grounded incorrectly. I had the ground cable connected to the closest exposed metal parts (a few different locations, but to no avail).
2. This kit does not work with my car (2015 rx350).
Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

There must be instructions that came with the fuse tap?
You did put back the original fuse in one of the slots right?
Cigarette lighter is on all the time whether ignition is on or not. Check if the lighter is still working? If working, check the voltage on the connector and ground. If there is voltage, then you are probably right that you have not grounded the device properly. If no voltage then there is the problem. But what is it? Pull out the fuse tap and connect the other way and try that.

All, turns out my connections were all good. The problem was with 1 of the fuses I had installed on the fuse holder. Vlad got me thinking about it. I swapped it out and all is well. Thanks for your help, everyone!
