NAV/Service schedule
Hi all,
I have a 2012 that was a loaner & has CPO on it. about 26k miles on it & still learning the features.
The nav/service-maint screen is not initialized, just a bunch of non dates and non miles.
Was the dealer supposed to initialize this with start dates and mileage when they put the car in service?
Am I supposed to do it?
What is it for?
tires/air cleaner/battery/oil change/wipers just about everything you can imagine is listed & all blanks.
Thanks
I tried search & came up blank.
Found nothing in owners' manual. Please advise if it's in there.

The dealer does not take care of this. You can enter those date reminders or mileage data points as desired. If you are a DIY type individual these can be useful. If not, your service advisor will go over what is required. I would recommend you become familiar with the service requirements of your new RX. There are a number of discussions here at CL about items you can perform yourself (e.g. cabin air filter) and things to expect at various service intervals.
Would also be a recommendation for you to register your vehicle with Lexus to have access to previous service information, recalls, and other useful hints and tips to include an online Owner's Manual you can search. Just have your VIN available to enter.

I entered the dealership information when I first got the car. then, my dealer enters the dates and mileage every time I go in. I am not sure if they are supposed to, but its nice of them

I always keep information like that, and service/maintenance information, on my cellphone. IMO, it is a duplication of effort to maintain two separate calendars that cannot be sync'd automatically.

Thanks all,
i have concluded that this is basically an optional service reminder menu. You fill in the items you want to or none at all. The written maintenance schedule has most/all of this for you or your dealer to check at the basic 5k intervals.
