Without knowing the dimensions of that space, here are some ideas that could work:

And in case you're still not convinced that a hanging bag can be manly...brace yourself...

I edited my first post, after taking a quick measurement. It was too hot an muggy outside, so I didn't want to sit there too long to take exact measurements

Being a straight male, I probably wouldn't want a pic of a (as described) sexy male on my garbage container. LOL
(Disclaimer: My previous statement is by no means an offense against other people's sexual preference.)
Although a little tall, this looks like a good fit. Time to order

Im using a fabric sticky pad in front of the nav screen too for various items.

Bought and returned several products to try out. I can't find anything to fit in the opening at the bottom of the center console. The only thing I can really find to fit there are water bottles and compact umbrellas.

i use the glove compartment or the center console to store my sunglasses.

I took out the insert from the center cupholder, and that makes it a useful place to put sunglasses and other small items, close at hand. I use the cupholder on the left side of the steering wheel.
I admit it's a disadvantage when I have a passenger who needs a cupholder, but that's not very often.

i took someone's suggestion and use the door handle space for sunglasses. Purse is still a problem when I have a passenger. I throw it in the back. Now it tells me in the middle of driving that it can't detect the key! Lexus is aware of the issue as they've sent questionnaires asking people where they put things.

"it can't detect the key" this happened to me when I have my cellphone and key fob together. Cellphone can sometimes interfere with the signal. I have a no nav rx so I use the space where the mouse is for my cellphone and key fob.

i enjoy putting things in the back, like an ipad/ laptop, stethoscope etc.
with the privacy screen/tinted windows, even if i forget to hide them after parking. i don't worry about prying eyes.
