Album/Song titles on CD/DVD's - ML?
Does anyone understand why neither the album or song titles on cds or dvds are not displayed on the navigation screen when looking at the audio display? They are displayed when playing on a computer. Originally i thought it was because i was playing old cds, and thee technology to display wasn't on them, but the same happens with new, modern disks. Is it possible that this will be addressed in new iterations of the nav system since it is updated using disks in the third generation? I'm not talking about people who have the dvd player installed, but rather those who have the premium or mark levinson audio systems.

I will look into this. I know that most of the disk that I have will not show a name on it but I have some that shows everything you asked about. All this is on my 2010 Camry but I will put one in the disk player in our new 450h with a ML and see what it will do. Wight now I have been using the usb and blu-ray in the car.

Its hit or miss, prolly matters if the CD was digitally mastered or not.
I have the standard Lexus 12 spk stereo (non ML) w/Nav and a CD I burned on a PC from MP3 downloads shows the song titles, yet my Beatles 1 CD does not. Meatloaf Bat Out of Hell CD shows the titles, but Springsteen Greatest hits CD does not . . . go figure.

As far as CDs you make at home...make sure the software supports CD Text. That is the technology that embeds the data for each song so it shows up on your display. As far as commercially bought CDs, I don't think many have CD Text embedded on them.
*This is only applies to audio CDs, not MP3s. If they are MP3 discs, I'm not sure what the problem would be.
