its this slot that is in all cars, usually under the steering column near the hood release lever. It allows auto technicians to access the cars computer to read error codes and to change settings

"obd"
OBD = "On Board Diagnostics" - the computer(s) in the car detect and record error conditions, which can be "read" by a technician plugging into a port in the car (usually under and to the left of the steering column). I guess the port could also be used to INPUT data if required, e.g., to set or change operating parameters.

I need help on this
I tried 2 times with Lexus of Lincoln and just called Lexus of Omaha and they (the service manager) both claimed that feature cannot be done. They also "told" me that it has the motor DOWN, but not a Motor UP. i think this is BS.
I told them many people got this done for theirs. he then told me they are lying to me. I told them if 1 or 2 people said that then it might be right but I have so many people have that done then it must be do-able.
Can anyone record a video that have the rear door open automatically for us? make sure you show that you are NOT pushing the remote.
Thank you.

Most likely they have to connect to the vehicle with their Techstream laptop and program the rear door.
This is a very common problem for many Lexus/Toyota dealers when new models come out. It seems that the new model training for dealerships is very lacking especially with so many customizable options now.
This same issue is still happening with the Gen2 Tundras and its programmable options.
I would try to talk directly to the master service tech and see if he is willing to hook up the techstream and take a look, (at most it should be a 5min change)
Also try contacting the fellas at Sewell Lexus, they are on this board and are very helpful.

Can you list the dealer info (Name and Phone #) where you have the vehicle programmed so we can ask our dealers to call them for help. I just came to my dealer again (3rd time) and asked but still "That is not doable!!!"
Thank you.
Thank you.

One thing I would do is write Lexus corporate and tell them about your experience with those dealers and there unwillingness to support there product and customer.

executive matchup
^ RXSF, thx for posting the above. My 2010 RX450h manual (section 6-2) does not show this. I will bring this info back to my dealer and see what they say. Thx.

This infomation is not in the earily release of the owner's manual.
Check the updated copy from the Lexus drivers web site.
Do a search for "2011 RX450H: Customization (pdf)"
