Default S.O.S Question after collision

Hi guys,

have one question about S.O.S communication with Lexus.
My wife RX350 was rear-ended by a 19yrs old kids driving Saturn over the weekend after she get off Highway RAM and stop for traffic. His car was total front-end and all air-bag deployed.

My wife RX350 2010 was badly damage, all of the air-bag light came on and some of the air-bag is off on the side, can't open the rear door, the bumper all smash. The Saturn took a heavy damage because it hit right on the rear hitch.

She panic call me I forgot to tell her to press S.O.S. Should the S.O.S know there was an impact and notify local authority?

She never press S.O.S and I was totally forgot to ask her too 'cause I was panic myself concern about my two daughters was in the vehicle.

According to the Lexus website, yes it will automatically notify in case of a severe accident with airbag deployment. https://secure.drivers.lexus.com/lex...y/collision.do

If this did not happen (which it sounds like it did not) either the system was not functioning or the trial period has expired and you did not renew.

"If I cancel my enrollment or my trial expires and I choose not to renew, will the light in my vehicle change from green to red, or will it just turn off?
If you choose to deactivate your vehicle, the small overhead LED light will turn off. If the vehicle cannot be reached for 120 days-the vehicle has not been used or is in an area of limited cellular connectivity-the vehicle light may remain green even though service has been turned off. See your Lexus dealer for assistance."

Hope your wife and two daughters are ok. Now " all of the air-bag light came on and some of the air-bag is off on the side, can't open the rear door" I thought that the air-bags are used or not that there was no in between. And did you ever used the enform fuction to see if the car would call out?

Default I don't think S.O.S call out

Well, I don't think the S.O.S call out because the air-bag never deploy. But, after the accident the system say CHECK AIR-BAG SYSTEM on the console. Front right Air-Bag is OFF and the symbol of AIR-BAG also stay on along with CHECK AIR-BACK SYSTEM.

Kids are OK only complain the seat belt strap so hard they can't move and Mom have bruises on her neck from seat belt pull her back, too.

Damn, we own this RX not even 2 month and less than 1200 miles and now this......

I'm glad everyone is OK. It does pay to drive a safe car. I would rather have a bruise on my shoulder than my head through the windshield.

You will have to let us know the out come of the damage. I have a feeling they will repair it since it is so new. When my car was in the body shop there was a IS350 and they were welding on a whole new rear end. $25k worth of damage and the owner went after the insurance company for 'diminished value' got an additional $12k.

Good Luck

If I understand correctly. None of the airbags deployed but you have airbag warning lights. It think that this is caused by the active headrests that would have been activated in this type of collision. In many situation these are actually triggered by small pyrotechnic charges and must be replaced after use. The lights are probably an indication of this situation.

In my opinion SOS should have been activated by this system as well. Glad your family is okay and best of luck on the repairs!
