In case anyone's thinking of doing this mod (I am!), Sewell has the white and blue sill plates available

Yep - different strokes, but its surprising how may people comment on them in my IS, they think they are the coolest things ever.
They're not a big deal to me, but my wife wants them, so $412 is a small investment to make her happy with her $50k car ;-)

Just purchased and installed the Illuminated Door Sill Set from Sewell for our 2010 RX450h.
http://lexus.sewellparts.com/accessories-catalog/interior/RX450h-2011/4330.html
Easy install with the right tool and a few critical tips.
I also bought the plastic pry tool for safely getting the sill up (no scratches).
http://lexus.sewellparts.com/accessories-catalog/Service/RX450h-2011/3372.html
Total member price at Sewell including shipping was 427.82 for us in NJ.
Crazy as someone said earlier for a cosmetic item only seen by those opening the door.
Lexus love I suppose.
OK, so earlier posts show you two most helpfull install hints as I found it.
In summary: One is the lighted sill comes with the four grommets with both male and female already inserted.
You cannot simply snap the new sill in place as when you remove the old sill as the female part of the grommet remains in the hole.
I tried removing the female part of the grommet on the new sill with no luck.
My solution, I simply swapped out the male from the "old"
removed sill (they slide out easily).
The electrical connection is plug n play once you remove the plug in the available connection. Then your snap.
Meaning there is a plug in the connection (you will see the line, the only visible option once you pull the sill off).
Remove the plug and insert the connection wire attached to your sill. You will hear a "snap".
Final part of the install is lining up the male / female grommets and snap the sill into place.
Light pressure on all sides will do the trick.
The other tip is to make sure your dome light option is on.
Ours was not and sills did not light up
Before pulling the sill off and checking your connection, check to see if your dome light is set to "on". It needs to be on for the sills to get power.
The dome gizmo button is in that mid console above the rearview mirror area.
Sills now light up and looks great. Since we have the 450h, we got the blue light.
Good luck.

DAMN, why do I log onto this site? It's so expensive! Those blue lights on my black sapphire baby--Fantastic!!! I just experimented and it took about 10 seconds to pop off the old sill and find the plug sitting there(with it's protective cap) just waiting to be used. The Sewell site says it fits '10 non-hybrids, too. DAMN

jclem, it took me over a year to buy the illuminated sills. I agree it is on the expensive side. I held off because of the winter weather too. But overall it's worth it. They have a 3D look to them, hard to tell from the pictures. I went with white over blue for my 450h. It matches the interior LED bulbs I installed perfectly I only wish Lexus had them for the rear as well.

I got generic RX lighted door sills from Aliexpress.com and affixed them over the existing OE sills (using super strong 3M double-sided tape) ... better looking than OE lighted door sills for fraction of the OE cost ... plus lighted rear door sills as well to boost

Looks good, TN7CON. I'm not sure why Lexus didn't include the rear sills on the 3rd (and 4th) gen RX. I had them on the 330. And the light color was orange. Those are nicer.

Just putting it out there:
I had them for my Honda Civic (via Aliexpress). Although very nice, they don't seem to last a long time. Mine died less than 1 year after installation. Attached to the LED plates are little boxes (transformer?, I'm not sure what exactly it it) are the culprits to their failure. I'm on the verge and replacing mine, but want to have spare "transformers" (better quality) when they do go.

Iluminated front door sill
I am looking for the illuminated front door sills (w/ blue LEDs) for a 2010 RX450H.
They came with the premium luxury package but I'd like to install them on the regular package too. I removed the existing door sills and the wiring for the illuminated ones is already there.
The part numbers are 67910-48080-C0 for the right (new part # might also be 67910-48082-C0)
and 67920-48080-C0 for the left (new part # might be 67920-48081-C0)
C0 is for the black trim .
I've tried calling dealerships and online places but can't find anybody who has them. Anybody know where I could find those? new or used (in good condition).
Thanks
