After market Cross bars
Does anyone have experience with after market cross bars for their 2010 350? I have been looking into some Thule ones. I am looking at the 450R Rapid Crossroad and the RB47 Rapid Load Bars. These have a nice appearance and I believe fit my needs: kayak transportation and/or basket use.
We do not have the factory cross bars and I'm not paying the $$$ to get them as accessories from the dealer.

No cross bars here
New to the forum. I do not have the cross bars on my 2010 RX350. Many at dealership where I bought did not either. Must be a regional option that various dealers select.

For the above reasons I can see why they are no longer standard equipment on any 2010 RX.

Thanks. I need the room inside so I use a basket for our luggage. There are only 3 of us, so we don't exceed 150 even with the weight of the rack. I'm a functionality kinda guy, so I actually look to use items like roof racks and tow hitches.

So I purchased the Thule Rapid Crossroad feet and cross bars. They could not have been easier to put on and work great with my Yakima Mega Warrior basket. Perfect for holding our bag on the roof full of our clothes; leaving room in the rear for the dogs. Here are a few pics... Pardon the dirty car it rained during our drive down...

Jeep... how are the bars noisewise? Took off the OE cross bars because of wind noise and they can carry 50lbs less than the Thule bars.
I picked up a set of 47's Aero Bars and the 450R feet. Have not had a chance to put them on yet.
FYI just ordered the Thule 611 Boxter box... great deal and great looking cargo box on Amazon for $639.

Hey Taz,
I have not run the bars alone yet, and will probably not do that. I'll only have them on when we need to use the box or carry the kayak, skis, etc. This being said, I have not noticed noise that really bothered me during the trip down. Yes, I could hear additional wind noise, but with a box and bag that is to be expected. No whistling or anything too annoying. When we run out to check out more storm damage; I'll listen for noise with the empty box. My wife is very happy with the setup too, so 'Mission Accomplished' for me! ;-)
The box from your link looks nice! Is that an RX in the picture? The box has nice lines that work well with the vehicle. If we did not already have a basket/bag combo; I would look at that box for sure.

Question on the bars... did you trim the rubber gasket that runs along the top of the bar to accomodate the end cap or just slide the end cap over it?

Audi Q7 I believe. Should have the box Wednesday. New and first baby so we need the extra space for all the crap my wife thinks we need to carry. Anything to take the missus happy... which it sounds like you can appreciate.

I did not have to trim the rubber gasket; I know the instructions state this may be necessary. For me, it was not needed.
