Default How Long from Order to VIN?

Yay! My dealer contact says the order went through on the 20th as planned. In his initial discussion, he said it could take 6-16 weeks for the car to arrive after configuration.

Any idea how long it takes to get a VIN in the system?

Wha-hoo! I'm on my way.

if it is a custom build based on your specs and options, 6 weeks is too short imho. 12-14 weeks (around 3 months and a bit) sounds about right.

Oh yeah, it's custom order, all right! He was willing to order the Sport Package for me, along with only the Premium Package and tow prep.

I am excited!

Yep. I'm on my 3rd mnth now and I ordered the fully loaded version. I got my VIN about 2 weeks ago. The car should be in Canada by now (from Japan) and should be omits way to my dealership. I'm hoping to hear from them next week.

So yes, 3 to 3.5 months sounds about right.

a 350 from Japan? I thought the 350s were made in Canada-450's in Japan.

For models sold in Canada, this is not entirely accurate - even for the 2009's, the base model and Ultra Premium were typically made in Japan, while the other packages were made in Ontario. So there hasn't really been a change except that now three packages (base, Sport, and Ultra Premium) are made in Japan for sale to Canada. I'm surprised your dealership didn't know this?

I'm sure your info is accurate, but I'm just going by what I'm told by my broker. Besides, not all dealers are knowledgeable about everything Lexus even though they should, we all know that.

All I know is that the base sport and ultra prem is from Japan. And mine is from Japan, which is a bonus.
