Metallic Tint = OK NAVI?
I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with tinting with a metallic based tint on their RX330 and has a factory Navi installed? Getting the car tinted on Monday, but am extremely worried about Navi and Radio problems. The brand is llumar metallic tint. Anyone?
I tinted my 99 Acura TL/Navi and can't [pick up any AM stations (no big loss their) nor, does my Navi seem as accurate as it used to be....but it's old (PMCIA (sic) Card Based, not DVD based) and could be the reason.
TIA

noooooooooooooooooo - I'm out on the metallic and reflective tint - way too "hooptie" for me - Lexus put the reflective tint standard on the old RX 300 and I just didn't like it! - I know that doesn't answer your question (about Nav) but I'm just doing my part to prevent another RX from getting the wrong tint

Metalllic tints have interfered with NAV (tho usually not radio) in the past. Don't know where your GPS antenna sits on the 330 but you'll need to leave a small hole for it.

Jeff, the tint I'm speaking about is not metallic looking, yet it has metallic properties, thu sprevernting that "purple" fading looking you've seen on car ranging 4-8 yrs old. If I were to park my Acura next to a dye tint job you would not be able to tell the difference. Promise! I'm not talking about that butt ugly mirrored tint.

phew! good news Jedi - sorry to jump to conclusions - my dealer offers a "Huper-Optic" tint that's dark, yet allows more light and a lot less heat cause it has metallic particles in it - I have it on my IS 300 - maybe that's what you're talking about!

Do Lexus dealers offer tinting the front driver and passenger windows to match the back windows? I had read another thread and the person mentioned they had their windows tinted by the dealer.
I didn't know Lexus could/would do this.

cbest,
my dealer offers a full line of services including tinting, washing, pinstriping, etc - I had mentioned to my salesguy that I wished the RX 330's front windows were as dark as the rear and he said "no prob" they'd do it to close the deal - IT WORKED!
