Dilema: Lexus RX350, 2008, 195k km, Navi - 12,500 CAD$ - is it a deal?
Is this a risky buy or are these cars good for 500k km? From what I heared they are great! What to look out for, what breaks most often...
Buy or no buy?
Also second option:
RX 350, 2009, 160k km, Navi - 15,750 CAD$
These are Montreal, Quebec prices!
Thanks guys!

On these earlier 3.5L engines, the water-pump sometimes goes. You can tell if it makes whirring noise from that area at idle. Replacement is labor intensive as it is in a tight spot.
Also check for steering rack leaks.
$12,500 with 200K km is somewhat reasonable because of the high kilometers. Beware though, I've heard a lot of used car fraud and odometer rollbacks coming out of Montreal, so we've been cautioned not to buy cars from Quebec.

I think that is about market price; did a quick scan of autotrader and it looks like $14K-$18K is the range for an RX350 with between 120K-170K in Toronto. I think you have room to bring him down more; or find another w/ lower KM for the same price if you are patient and shop around.
If it has been well maintained (oil changed, regular service etc.) then it should run for years. Given that it has pretty limited tech there is much less to go wrong...
