Tire Pressure Monitor System Problem Need Input
Our tire pressure monitor light came on recently. I checked the tire pressures, topped off all four and reset the TPMS button, but no luck. The light blinks, but then stays on. I'm thinking I've got one of two problems. Either the spare has low pressure or the batteries are used up in the sensors. The car is an early 2009. Seven full years seems kind of early for the batteries to be finished in the TPMS units. Anyone else experience this issue after only 7 years?
Any input is appreciated.

I had to top off my spare when the weather turned cold last month.
As someone else posted recently, make sure the TPMS "main/2nd" switch in the passenger footwell didn't get bumped to the "2nd" position.
I had a sensor go out around the six year mark. The rest are still fine at nine years now.

GOT IT!! Thanks very much. It was the spare tire. First time I've had to inflate that one. I didn't know it's a full spare with a wheel that matches the others on the car.
