As a detailer...there are many variables.

A lot of times if you dont properly place wax to coat over the paint your clear coat will peel..then paint will fade next.

I will trade-in soon and NEVER buy Lexus again ,

I never wax my Lexus. Your response is irresponsible. Lexus -Toyota company should know this and do something to fix this issue.
Do not buy Lexus vehicles.

The first thing that I do when buying a new or like new car is to strip the old wax (if any), and perform a length detail including clay bar and polish and wax using a orbital polisher.


But never waxing a car and exposing the paint to the weather is just asking for trouble.

Yes, of course. You should get a nice BMW or Audi or perhaps a Mercedes. I'm almost positive you will be much happier with one of these fine cars. Maybe a Range Rover!

Indeed, it's not good that your paint is peeling. However, the fellow member is only trying to help, so your remark is out of line and unfair, in my humble opinion.

Lexus is a unique car company in the level to which they will step up to address issues and stand behind their product. That is remarkably well-documented across this site, and contacting Lexus is precisely what you were just advised to do, as there appears to be a known problem with a particular color. Instead, you have opted to take an unnecessarily negative tone and "flame".


I would agree - take your attitude, go buy a fine German automobile and enjoy...

I have Nissan Maxima 94, its paint is still sharp, its paint is better than Lexus'. I think of Acura MDX.

you would be absolutely stupid to NOT wax your car.

If you care about the exterior appearance of your vehicle, then it's basic maintenance on a vehicle, like changing your oil.

you can buy a nice mercedes or any other make and in a few years it will look like crap if you don't wash and wax the damn thing.

Stop and consider all the pollutants a car's paint is subjected to like acid rain, industrial contaminants of all sorts, salt and other road melting chemicals, etching from bird droppings and insects. Regularly adding an additional layer of protection can add years to the life and overall appearance of a vehicle as well as increase its resale value.

Yes, people are so stupid and idiot to wax their new cars, I think.
The painting is only peeled off handles and mirror covers, not entire the car. It's so idiot of thinking of not wax caused.
