Default CEL, VSC, & Trac Off Lights = Code p0430

SO all three lights came on and wouldn't go away.

Ran a scanner for code and got p0430.

Took it dealership for estimate or fix.

Go figure : code summary: Causes.

Reported fixes or Causes: for code p0430
• catalytic converter has failed.
• Air fuel ratio sensor
• Bank 2 cat converter
• Bank 2 (A/F) ratio sensor
• Oxygen 02 sensor
• downstream Oxygen 02 sensor
• Exhaust pipe
• Mass Air flow sensor

SO I am waiting thinking ok let be one of the above causes or fixes that is cheap.

Wella!!! $2,240.00 price to repair 2004 RX330 for one item above.

Trading this baby soon!

Give me half I will fix your problem...

LOL!

Sorry can not help but joke around it.

If you type in P0430, there's a wealth of knowledge out there that can help you tackle this issue.

Guarantee you will spend way less than $2K...

If you are lucky you may just need a new O2 sensor.

Lots of luck.

Actually the P0430 code is the catalytic converter efficiency below minimum. Not likely an O2 sensor. How many miles on this car and what year is it, Tex? i just replaced the forward cat on the wife's '04 RX. Code went away. Now intermittently I get the P2241 which means that the wiring harness to the O2 sensor just below said cat may have become disconnected. There are many threads on this forum regarding the P0430 code and the proper fix.

Also thanks rxpx40!
Guys,
Was desperate on fixing the Rx 2004(my daughter's) was leaving back to college within 2 days.
Made Big - BIG! mistake by not getting a second opinion. I had researched the error & gotten the thread with all the codes definitions only.
Trusted dealership with it . . . hmm . .
So they replaced Bnks 1 & 2 Cat Converters sub-assy.
gasket, exhaust mani.
stud, hex Lobular.
gasket, exhaust pipe.

Plus Replaced Valve cover gaskets and FIPG Oil Pan, they mentioned there was a oli leak.
That made it over 3m dollars BUT!!! i had a 10% discount card . . yea! have to look at it in a bright side now.
Mileage: 214570 (has a lot) Always been a great Lexus & still is since now they repaired.

I am posting all this maybe it will help somebody in the future from making or to research and get advice. I was a bit late reading you guys advice or replies.

THXS LC & you guys again.
