I wonder how bad that dash cracking has to be.. I received a letter for my 04 RX. It's only got a crack between the 2 heater vents on the passenger side, so very small. It does seem to be permanently greasy though. I've noticed since acquiring it that I can never really get the dashboard clean.

If someone told you otherwise you need to contact Lexus Corporate. I would take pictures and send a letter with your VIN and contact information.

I received my first letter from Lexus mid-January.
The letter stated that they would be sending another notification letter once the parts have been prepared and obtained for replacement due to this cosmetic condition.
Good luck.

Just got my letter and it doesn't include the door panels...But in the service bulletin on the Techstream site says that door panels are included. I wonder if it is only certain years or certain manufacturing plants that include the door panels.

I got my letter yesterday but I don't notice any cracks on my dash on my 04 RX330 AWD. I wonder if I should take an exacto knife to it so I can get a new dash.
Does anybody know what's involved in replacing the dash? Do they take apart the entire instrument cluster?

If your dash is fine, don't try and ruin it. Be happy you don't have to get a new one. They do have to take out the entire dash board to replace it and I am a little scared that once I get it back there will be rattles from them working on it.

i do have some rattles in the dashboard, but I only hear it when the weather is cold. The dash texture is a little tacky/sticky when you touch it, I wouldn't consider it melted though. I don't know if this qualifies but as Jakenbake commented, maybe it is better to leave well enough alone.
