How much are you folks in Ontario paying for "maintenance service" for a 2004 RX330? Oil and filter is about $125 + taxes. I'm quoted $225 + taxes for the maintenance service. Of course, loaner, car wash, interior vacuum and wipe down is included.

256,000 kilometer service:

I also have to do the following: (plus taxes)
- transfer and differential fluid changes - about $50 each;
- coolant replacement - $140

So about $520 + taxes for a total of about $590.

Sounds about right? Or do I have a better option? I haven't been to an independent mechanic in ages and I don't know if there's much savings to be had for these services.

Have you been to a Toyota dealership that is not affiliated with a nearby Lexus dealership? The cost will probably be less than attending a Lexus dealership.

Thanks. Toyota dealers in Ottawa won't take lexus cars anymore. I begin to wonder if this is anti-competitive behavior.

Those are all very simple things one can do on their own. with a little research and some you tube videos, you could save yourself alot of money.

with the mileage, keeping your warranty concerns are no longer there.

The Toyota dealer where I live in Oregon openly brags about charging ⅓ less on service than the Lexus dealer. Minus the free chocolates.
