2004 RX330 with 131k - Worth It?
We are looking at a 2004 RX 330 with 131k miles on it to purchase as our winter vehicle. The asking price is $11,300. If you have this model and year what should we watch out for? Is the mileage too high?
An alternative is a 2006 RX330 with 85k miles for $16,200. But this one is a bit past the budget.
Any advise on what to be aware of would be much appreciated!

You do not say how either is equipped. Makes a big difference. Best thing for you to do is to go to cars.com, put in your criteria and search to see what is available, how they are equipped, and for how much.
On the 2004, assuming the timing belt, water pump and plugs have all been changed then you are set to go for awhile.
On the 2006, it more than likely has not had its timing belt nor water pump changed out at the 90K interval. Also, that price is very high.
As with any purchase the vehicle should be inspected by an independent mechanic.

Thanks for the link RB. I d/l the file and that isn't a job for the faint of heart. I put a TRD SC in my Matrix and that didn't look as hard as changing the Plugs on the RX.
Anyway I bought my 04 RX330 AWD with 110K miles and just learning all the maintenance items that need to be dealt with. Timing Chain, Water Pump, Spark Plugs, Fluid changes...etc. Oh well if it runs another 110K miles I'll be happy despite $1000 worth of maintenance items.

Money well spent, these are great cars. Welcome to the forum.
